Marsha Wykes, PT, OCS, CHC, Cert. MDT
Marsha graduated with a degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Minnesota in 1995. She is a board certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties. This advanced certification requires a minimum of 2,000 hours of direct patient care in orthopedic physical therapy practice. Marsha is also certified through the McKenzie Institute USA in Mechanical Diagnosis and Treatment of the spine (Cert MDT).
Marsha’s Physical Therapy career has focused primarily in outpatient orthopedics with an emphasis on sports and spine injuries and post-surgical rehabilitation. She takes a biomechanical approach to care with an emphasis on re-education of proper movement patterns through balancing strength, flexibility, joint mobility and motor control. Marsha believes that “Patient education is extremely important to successful outcomes. If a patient doesn’t understand how and why treatment strategies work, then I haven’t done my job.”
After making some significant lifestyle changes of her own to boost her own health and overall wellness, Marsha became certified as a Health Coach and has invested herself in further and ongoing studying in topics including nutrition, sports nutrition, motivation, and well-being in order to help her Health Coaching clients work toward attaining their personal wellness goals.
