Celebrating 40 Years

This year marks the 40th anniversary of Cioffredi & Associates. As I reflect on those years, I’m struck by how much has changed. When I first started, my focus was simpler: provide the best care possible, one person at a time. But as the practice grew, so did additional challenges. I had to learn how to lead, how to build a team, and how to create an environment where others could thrive. It wasn’t always a straight path—there were setbacks and lessons along the way. Yet, through collaboration and a shared commitment to excellence, I came to understand our collective strength far surpasses anything I could accomplish alone. Today, I’m filled with gratitude—for my outstanding team and for the community that has entrusted us to support their wellbeing. Our mission to empower people to live happier, healthier lives has never felt more meaningful. Here’s to the next chapter, built on the lessons of the past and a shared vision for the future.

We have been client’s of Bills from our daughter, Kate’s, freshman year at HHS in 1992. She was a very active athlete and a hyperactive young woman. You could not keep her down. Couple that with her very loose hyper-mobile joints, and we were often patient’s of Bill’s who literally put her back together again. Field hockey and horse back riding in the summer and fall, ski racing in the winter, and riding again in the Spring along with lacrosse, led to many opportunities for Bill’s help. She competed in all of these activities and was very good and fast. So fast, that at times she was ahead of herself and dislocated an arm or ankle or knee, or broke her nose. We were always in need of Bill to put our Humpty Dumpty back together again.

I’ve turned to Bill Cioffredi three times. The first was nearly 20 years ago when a meniscus tear from tennis left me sidelined. The second, when searing sciatic nerve pain made even standing a challenge. The third, after an ankle twist. And every single time, my takeaway was the same: Bill knows exactly what he’s doing. Bill doesn’t just treat symptoms—he finds the source of the problem and eliminates it. His deep knowledge of the human body, combined with his no-nonsense, targeted exercises, means the pain stays gone. For good. At 75, I see too many people my age bogged down by chronic aches and endless complaints. Not me. Thanks to Bill, I move freely, travel extensively, and live life without limits. Bill isn’t just in the physical therapy business. He’s in the business of giving people their lives back—one patient, one smile at a time.

Congratulations to Billy and Ruth on 40 years of service to the Upper Valley.  Bill’s exceptional team has coached Kathy and me for all those years through Achilles tendon and rotator cuff recoveries, seven joint replacements, and multiple hip, lower back, foot, hand, wrist and neck issues.  It has been an extensive education on muscles and joints!  With each visit the physical therapist’s expertise, ingenuity, and caring have shown through.

They have inspired habits of home / gym exercise, helped us build confidence to do our many physical activities and been a trusted source of information when we ran into trouble. Billy is also often there leading by example, to say “Hi” and to ask “What’s going on?” before quietly checking with the therapists on your progress.   While all that is happening on the floor, the front desk is efficiently moving appointments around and making the billing seamless with the same friendly approach.  The team has become like family to us. Kathy and I have been able to maintain an active lifestyle thanks to all the help, tough love, caring and encouragement we have received.  A special shout out to Kate Leiser, who has put us back together so many times.  We are so thankful.

It all began with my dad, who instinctively knew that Cioffredi’s could help him recover. On Father’s Day, while trying to protect my mom from being hit by a car, my dad was struck at a crosswalk. He fell, and although the ambulance determined he could go home, his doctor later recommended physical therapy. Without hesitation, we turned to Cioffredi’s. The care and attention my dad received from Billy, Kate, Jamie, and staff went beyond what words can express. It wasn’t just about physical recovery—it was about the environment they created: one of genuine compassion, healing, and support. It truly felt like a safe space, where recovery wasn’t just a physical process but a holistic experience. This sanctuary-like atmosphere set the tone for how our family views physical therapy.

Both of our parents lived just shy of 100 years, and physical therapy was instrumental in not only maintaining, but enhancing their quality of life. Over the years, when doctors recommended medications, injections, or even surgeries, we always chose to start with Cioffredi’s. Time and again, they’ve helped us rediscover the healing potential of our bodies, boosting our confidence, mobility, and overall well-being. It’s no surprise that Cioffredi’s is now celebrating 40 years of excellence. As someone who loves the outdoors and values staying active, I’ve personally benefited from physical therapy at Cioffredi’s. More recently, I proactively joined the personal training program with Kate to maintain strength, confidence, and overall well-being. It has been a game-changer in helping me stay strong and healthy. For me, Cioffredi’s will always be my first choice—thanks to their unwavering commitment to healing and wellness. Their facility is a sanctuary of care, and I’m forever grateful for the positive impact they’ve had on my family and me. Here’s to 40 years of making lives better!

Bill has been an immeasurable presence in both our lives ever since he started his practice nearly 40 years, ago. We are truly grateful to Bill for helping, and coaching us, thru our back, hip and shoulder surgeries. Aging has thrown us several curves and Bill has always been there to help us through the pain.  Without Bill’s skilled knowledge we could not have enjoyed the last 40 years-where did the time go?! We are truly grateful to both Bill and his wonderful staff.

When I first noticed a nagging hip pain almost 15..or was it 20 years ago, I thought it was something I would have to get used to and have to live with.  That’s when I first met Bill.  I will never forget what he told me …that I did not have to live with pain.  How true.  He was able to work with me and a few sessions later I was actually free of that constant pain. That started my “journey” with Bill.  I used to joke that some part of me would fall apart annually just so I would have to make an appointment to see Bill…and yes, I’d soon get better.  He helped resolve issues with my back, hip, knee, TMJ, Plantar fasciitis, frozen shoulder just to name a few! I, at times, would also say that the pain was not too intense and that I felt I was wasting his time, till he made me  realize that small aches turn into major problems if not attended to in a timely manner. That helped me get rid of a feeling of guilt!  It’s been such a pleasure working with Bill and I am so thankful for his help in staying healthy and pain free.

Thank you to the Upper Valley community for helping us celebrate 40 Years of service!
